Issues creating a Simple Sharepoint 2013 People Directory

Hi all,

I am trying to create a Staff Directory in SharePoint 2013 (OnPrem, Enterprise).  Following this URL: http://www.sharepointconfig.com/2013/05/how-to-create-a-simple-sharepoint-2013-people-directory/

However, not working real well.

Couple of questions:

Do I need to logged in with Search Service Account to do this?  I am the site administrator.
