My company is new to using SharePoint (we are using it through a subscription in Office 365) and we currently have only about 4 users. I’m a little confused about licensing. It seems it is easy for people to be users on SharePoint subscription without having a license – in fact, having a license seems to be primarily on the “honor system”.
The term “External User” is generally defined as anyone who is not either an employee in our company or any of our affiliates.
So this may be s silly question, but does this mean that anyone in our company who uses SharePoint for any reason should have a license, including, say, a person who is assigned a project and may be asked to review a document or at most provide edits?
