Hi
I am looking for books, articles, videos etc. that can help me with creating advanced no-code solutions in SharePoint 2013 and/or SharePoint Online. The available books (that I know of) are usually targeted towards developers, administrators or beginners. The same goes for video training at SharePoint-videos.com, Pluralsight.com, Lynda.com and most of the stuff found on YouTube. When I finally find something with substance, they usually start from scratch and spends a lot of time telling about what SharePoint is, it’s history and so on – even when the level is intermediate or high.
What I need is high level, focused, “no BS” guides to creating advanced solutions utilizing technologies like Term Store, Content Types, BCS, workflows etc. that doesn’t waste my time too much.
In my opinion, the topic of creating no-code solutions in SharePoint is neglected. There are tons of books, courses, webinars etc. for developers (aka “Programmers”), administrators and end users. But guys like me – non-programmers that tries to utilize the advanced features in SharePoint, are more or less left alone.
Do you know about sources for the kind of information I am looking for, I am very interested.
Regards
Jakob
What kind of subjects do you need? I will scan the videos and build out a playlist for you… We’ve every subject under the sun on here.
Hello,
I definitely understand your situation. I’m not a developer either, and when I first got into SharePoint, there wasn’t a lot of content out at all. However, that’s changed a bit. There are quite a few videos like that on this site, and we have a few “getting started” videos that will be coming out throughout the year. I would start by looking at some of Laura Rogers’ stuff, as well as some of the blogs here.
It’s often more helpful to look for the specific things you’re trying to accomplish much of the time. We hope to change that with some of the content coming out soon.
