I’ve been looking for the best migration tool that can help me migrate a few hundred documents from SharePoint 2003 to Office 365. I’ve gone through a few tools but haven’t found something that meets our needs quite yet.
The documents are currently spread out across a number of sites and I’m looking to consolidate them into one library. I’d also like to maintain version history and add metadata to the target content type.
Ideally, as I’ve already created the spreadsheet as an audit, I would be able to supply a spreadsheet/csv with the source document URL and the destination location, as well as column values for the target content type – the tool would be able to handle the rest.
I’m wondering if anyone already knows of a product that meets the requirements, or any related advice?

I had a look at the specs for the metalogix migration tool and it doesn’t list SP2003 as one of the systems it can migrate from, but I’d be happy to be corrected on that!
I’ve also had a quick test install of ShareGate and, though I like the product, I’m pretty sure it can’t help me this time.
I have used Metalogix’s tool for migrating (free for up to 25GB) and I currently have ShareGate. I don’t remember if Metalogix has the import source from spreadsheet option you are looking for, but ShareGate does not.
I really like ShareGate and I think it can do the tagging you’re after (it has a number of options) if you can manually manage the content moves.
