I’m working with a company that has a Blog site they’re using for company news. As with all blog sites, it generates the Categories and Archives sections on the left navigation. However, I can’t seem to find a way to add another item to the left nav (in this instance, a link to the old news site).
Editing the local navigation in Site Settings is no help, as it does not even show the Archives and Categories sections and anything added to the structural navigation there does not show up on the site.
I can add content to the default site page, but it does not follow on other pages as navigation would.
If I try to simply enter in old news stories in the new blog site, the Archives navigation does not update to show older stories (by post date) if the post date is prior to the blog site’s creation.
It seems to inherit the master page of its parent, but override it somehow for the left nav functions. Any thoughts?
