I want to build a solid workstation/desktop to use as a virtualization platform, which I will use to set up a virtualized SharePoint 2010/2013 environment and will use personally (watching movie, playing games, coding, etc.). I hope I could run at least 8+ VMs on this system. My budget is AU$2,500-3,000.

DRAM: 32GB size – Gskill ripjaw
Storage: 2x 250 SSD
GPU: No Idea
Power supply: No Idea
Cooling: No Idea
ODD: No Idea

Thanks for the advice. That’s a good setup and it’s affordable, I’m checking now the specs in your list and I’m curious on how many VM you’re running in that setup? Does 6 cores in a machine affect virtualization? Like more cores faster.
