I want to build a solid workstation/desktop to use as a virtualization platform, which I will use to set up a virtualized SharePoint 2010/2013 environment and will use personally (watching movie, playing games, coding, etc.). I hope I could run at least 8+ VMs on this system. My budget is AU$2,500-3,000.

CPU: Choosing between i7 3930k/i7 3770
Mobo: P9X79 WS/Rampage IV Extreme/Z9PE-D8
DRAM: 32GB size – Gskill ripjaw
Storage: 2x 250 SSD
GPU: No Idea
Power supply: No Idea
Cooling: No Idea
ODD: No Idea
Casing: No Idea

I wouldn’t go for any cheaper components in a build like this, cheaper ram usually has more defects in the minerals used which can lead to instability. Cheaper Powersupply can cause hardware faults due to insufficent power, cheaper motherboard.. sometimes depends on the features you want.
