We have decided to have a bit of fun and also learn from each other in a 3 day contest.
You have until Friday 12th (10pm GMT), to come up with the most creative answer by filling in the blanks to this statement :
My favourite SharePoint feature is _____ because ______
Fellow member, Joe Litton has kindly agreed to pick a winner for us. That’s it, simple! You can also have as many goes as you want. If you need incentive to have a go, the winner will be given the opportunity to choose a free EBook from our sponsor O’Reilly.
So why not get started? This one is also open to everyone (including me) as I want to have a go at winning!
Oh, yeah if it’s specific to a particular version of SharePoint, or you have a good link, then please share!
Joe’s comments :
Please note: I do appreciate inappropriate, off-putting, offensive comments – most anything that spouts from the socially mal-adept is appealing to me. Nonetheless, I shall exercise the duties of this most serious task with the diligence and attention it deserves. And I promise to not judge my own entry as the best …even if it is. Well, unless mine is the only entry 🙂
My favourite is Powerview support in sharepoint bi and sharepoint apps(published some MVC application as an apps to sharepoint site)
The contest closed last night at 10PM GMT. I’ve been reading through the replies as they’ve come in and read them all again this morning…
AND THE WINNER is… Stephanie Cole!
“My favorite SharePoint feature is job security because I am tired of being out of work for months at a time whenever my employers downsize me…”
We are all members of this community because SharePoint is an integral part of our tech lives. Some members have been immersed in SharePoint for a decade. Some of us are quite a bit newer to the SharePoint world. But all of us have made – or are starting to make – a living based on this technology.
There were MANY informative replies to the contest, and I urge everyone to read through them all. I’m certainly not an expert, but I suspect even if YOU are, you’ll see some feature mentioned of which you were not aware.
However, even with the many specific features that are truly valuable and noteworthy, I have to concur with Stephanie that the single greatest feature – the overarching aspect of SharePoint that brings us all here – is the job security. I see the reach of SharePoint only growing for many, many years to come.
Congratulations Stephanie!
My favorite feature in SharePoint in the current version is not just the drag and drop feature but the same feature working in any browser other than IE. In the past upload multiple document never worked in Google chrome or in Firefox.
What Stephanie Cole said is yet the best SharePoint feature 🙂
I just hope this will continue until my retirement
