We have decided to have a bit of fun and also learn from each other in a 3 day contest.
You have until Friday 12th (10pm GMT), to come up with the most creative answer by filling in the blanks to this statement :
My favourite SharePoint feature is _____ because ______
Fellow member, Joe Litton has kindly agreed to pick a winner for us. That’s it, simple! You can also have as many goes as you want. If you need incentive to have a go, the winner will be given the opportunity to choose a free EBook from our sponsor O’Reilly.
So why not get started? This one is also open to everyone (including me) as I want to have a go at winning!
Oh, yeah if it’s specific to a particular version of SharePoint, or you have a good link, then please share!
Joe’s comments :
Please note: I do appreciate inappropriate, off-putting, offensive comments – most anything that spouts from the socially mal-adept is appealing to me. Nonetheless, I shall exercise the duties of this most serious task with the diligence and attention it deserves. And I promise to not judge my own entry as the best …even if it is. Well, unless mine is the only entry 🙂
My favorite SharePoint feature is job security because I am tired of being out of work for months at a time whenever my employers downsize me. I am a new(ish) mom and the family earner, and as such I am oh-so-acutely aware of just how dangerous it is to be an expert in a field with no jobs. Now I am a newbie in a field awash with openings – a much better situation to be in!
My favorite SharePoint 2013 feature is the UI Changes.
– Metro Look
-Nice messages (Please Wait, I am loading your site…)
etc.
My favorite SharePoint 2013 feature is The FAST integration because of the document preview 🙂
My favourite SharePoint feature is the new Drag and Drop functionality in SharePoint 2013. Been to several conferences and at quite a few this actually gets a round of applause. (Bit geeky, but you can understand why. Such a time saver).
My favourite SharePoint feature is the changes with each version because as a n00b who has sat for the SP2010 Config and Dev exams (and did a nice job failing both), it is wonderful to see that when I finally do learn SP2010 well enough to pass the exams, I get to chuck a bit of that to the side and replace it with SP2013 bits.
I also like that SharePoint gives wayward Notes developers / admins an outlet for our collaboration fondness.
