Hi,
I just discovered today that SharePoint 2013 does not have Excel Automation Service in Service Applications.
Will Companies that deploy standard edition of SharePoint 2013 be able to make use of excel on Sharepoint.
What limitations does this exclusion bring to the use of SharePoint 2013 standard.

Excel Calculation Services (never has been an Excel Automation Services) is not available in SharePoint 2013 Standard. Excel Web Apps is available for Standard via Office Web Apps, but EWS does not have the BI functionality, nor support for XLS files.
