Since this week we’ve been experiencing issues in O365 tenants, both Developer and E3. The main issue is that the administrator account is not able to upload any files to the Style Library or Master Page Galleries. Not sure if there are other implications.
I saw this behavior already in 2 Developer tenants, and now it happened on an E3 tenant as well.
We have been investigating and, thus far, it seems to be because of some sort of weirdness with the administrator account permissions. We found out that (for some unknown reason) the admin user is given “Limited Access”, and certain libraries become restricted to it.
We tried manually giving permissions to other groups, making site collection admin, but to no avail.
After creating a NEW O365 tenant, things work just smoothly. But, eventually, the tenant becomes corrupted.
As of now we have no definitive answer on what’s happening, but thought to put this out here in case someone else is seeing this behavior so that we can initiate a massive rant about it 😀
Pls submit a service request and post it in the office 365 communities under sites and document sharing so you will get the answer from MSFT person. This will also help to reach the proper target audience.
