Apart from paying £2k a year for a tool like ShareGate, what is the easiest way to copy content from one tenant to another?
Thank you Kaushal for Script step. Indeed wanted to do something like that on my collection on www.cloudappsportal.com , the tech support guys our helpful there but i wanted to do it on my own as for now i am using there trail version product.

You can create PowerShell script to connect with one tenant and transfer data to another tenant.

Could you provide assistance to me on this? I have created site templates and am currently unable to use as custom template for a sub site. First is it possible to use a site template from a Root collection on a Sub Site? If so, how would I go about that?

This template can’t be used for this site collection until the issues above are resolved.
For moving the entire lists, I suggest you save them as templates. List templates can be downloaded locally and uploaded to other sites. For reference you can refer – https://community.office365.com/en-us/f/148/t/355418.
