I’m working on in a Site Collection where co-authoring is NOT Working with the Client App Word 2013. We can do co-authoring through the “Office Web Applications” (OWA). The Office Web Application is running on another server.
The same document can be co-authored through OWA but not through the Client Word 2013 Application.
We’ve checked Applications settings to make sure “Enable Client Integration” was set to “Yes”.
Also, we’ve checked that the Site Collection Feature “Open in the client application” was enabled.
Neither, “Versioning” or “Checkout” is required in the document library.
“Open in Client Application” is selected in the Library Settings.
And actually, this doesn’t matter. We can choose to edit directly in the Client when we open the document in OWA with either “Open in browser” or “Use the server default (Open in the browser)” selected.
In any case in the Client Application, the first one to edit the document locks the other user out.
Suggestions?
just because EVERYTHING is relative .. any office 2007 components on your client end? say SPD or infopath? (07 causes lockouts!)
Muzik,
Thanks for answering. This is not the case Require Check out is NOT enabled. I would think this would affect Office Web Applications just as much and co-authoring is working fine with OWA.
