For the company I currently work at, I am reviewing the possibility for Microsoft Teams as a file server hosted with Apps4Rent. This idea came to mind when we as a company want to say goodbye to the VPN. Now there are some things that I’d like to know like what are challenges that you can face when you are using Teams as a file server?
Or is it possible to do it with the state of Teams as of now?
What are the security risks involved?
What is the best way of managing the teams and the files? (We want to give as much freedom to the managers of the Teams as possible)
If you know some of this information I would like to hear more about it.
Regards,
Akshay Mane
We use it in this manner. We are ditching out legacy file server in lieu of SPO and Teams/OneDrive for all our storage needs.
We are moving everything to SPO and Teams/OneDrive. People have access to what they need and in some limited cases, we grant RO access. Mostly though we let everyone have RW access. This took alot of changes in mindset, but once we showed the ability to revision control and restore deleted files, it made everyone feel more comfortable.
