Hello All,
I’ve been practicing with installing SP2013, using autospinstaller, and this has all gone pretty well.
One of the benefits that autospinstaller gives me is the ability to create databases without the dreaded GUID.
I’ve now taken the leap and have started to create the service applications manually.
The one application that is giving me problems, is the Search Service Application.
I can create this appilcation successfully, But what I can’t do is stop it from creating the 4 database types, without the GUID name.
I have found the following article on technet http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff851878.aspx
I tried following the instructions for the search service application, but failed 🙁
I am rebuilding my dev environment and will try again. But I was wondering if anyone had some tips, or could explain why the GUID is created when I create the Search Service Application, but is not created when I create any of my other applications, such as the Managed Metadata Service
Thanks for that Bart,
So, looks like I need to brush up on my sharepoint powershell commands and see how to create the application that way.
thanks for your help
