 I am trying to explore different ways to build custom Reporting in SharePoint for my own data. Please suggest me different ways to build reports for my data in SharePoint 2013. It would be helpful if you can direct me to source and best practices for developing reports in SharePoint where i can expoler in detail.

I was actually looking at this post yesterday! We may have a need to display Crystal Reports on SharePoint Online, so I may be working on a provider-hosted app version of this web part. If it happens, I’ll see if I can release it open source.
