I am trying to explore different ways to build custom Reporting in SharePoint for my own data. Please suggest me different ways to build reports for my data in SharePoint 2013. It would be helpful if you can direct me to source and best practices for developing reports in SharePoint where i can expoler in detail.

Hi Mark i am looking for something that can help me generate graphs or charts (just basics to begin with) from data stored in my sp list with some basic functionality like export, yes they can be webparts but i am looking forward to a client side based solution. I came accross a js library called highcharts which is perfect but a paid one, so i am looking something similar.
