I need some guidance on building a resource reservation system running in SharePoint 2013 on O365. I have read through the articles and tried different options, but I really want to keep away from the backwards compatible workaround with having resource-enabled calendar for 2 reasons – there is no guarantee that it will be supported in future and it is not meeting my requirements.
So the story is:
– We have pool of resources in a SP list that are split in different physical locations.
– The user is supposed to open an InfoPath form, select the desired location, select desired dates and the form should return a list of available resources for the selected location.
– The user selects the resource he wants to reserve and sends the request for approval.
Any hints on how to achieve this will be much appreciated!
