This suggestion can go in a number of directions but in general I was thinking of having a “mini course” for studying topics closely related to MSFT SharePoint exams. They could consist of a mixture of offline assignments such as viewing certain videos or using items available on the internet or MVA courses with specific group chats here. In addition to this, there could be a live demo/chat to visually go over the topics so that there is a more real-time aspect to the study group. Google hangouts or another meeting software may help with a live interactive type of meeting to actually perform some of the concepts on a real SharePoint server.
Perhaps starting with a very basic course such as the 70-331 (
Core Solutions of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013) would be best and see how things go from there. I personally plan on studying for many of the exams over many months trying to knock them out one at a time. I thought that having others to study with who have the same ambition would be good if there is enough genuine, committed interest in it.
The only possible issue I see is that with time zone differences the live meeting once a week (or more) may be hard to schedule but that also may depend on who is interested in wanting to do this too. One fix for that might just be recording the session/video and having people who cannot attend watch it later on YouTube or something.
Use Google Hangout! You can auto-record them to YouTube and it has whiteboard and screen-sharing capabilities in addition to the video/text chat.Â
