I am currently working on finding a way to integrate a more social form of communication to our SharePoint Online. I investigated SharePoint Social solutions but my site does not include newsfeed, neither does Delve, so you don’t have one central place where you see your profile and your newsfeed at once.
Newsfeed seemingly being on the verge of being retired, I’m checking on Yammer. Problem: Yammer doesn’t seem to pick up on tags that I am using from the SharePoint discussion board, the way newsfeed did. Therefore people won’t be able to call out others.
Are there solutions/alternatives out there?

Let me add this: When tagging someone in SPO, no notification is created under the bell on the right corner of the page, only an email is sent. This creates 2 different places for notifications from the same platform, instead of having one single dashboard under Yammer.
Is there any solution to this absurd situation?
