Greeting all!
I have a SharePoint 2010-2013 upgrade related problem.
For some reason, many of our default site home pages are screwed up after a test migration/upgrade. I have migrated the SharePoint databases as a test to see what kind of problems crop up. And, this is a fairly simple one and I’m hoping for an easy answer.
These pages are the default site page “home.aspx” that comes with the usual “Team Site” template. Not much to them usually.
The upgraded page appears with only text and all the formatting is gone and the controls are missing…
Here is the text that remains.
Welcome to Projects site. The purpose of this site is to allow us to create particular pages dedicated to particular internal Blackcreek projects. Project discussions can occur in the discussion pages and tasks assigned and created. Most importantly is the storage of project documentation and related files in the ProjectDocs library. It is fairly easy to decipher what is missing. The question is, how can I resolve this problem without a lot of fiddling before we flip the switch and do the actual migration?
Thanks in advance… Your input would be appreciated.
Quick update on this…
1) It seems to only be related to the default site page if the page hadn’t been updated for long time.
2) Also, I ran the March 2015 CU update on the new environment and that seems to have resolved a few of the sites, but I’m not 100% sure if I had previously edited and saved the sites that didn’t fix after the March 2015 CU.
So, simply put, before doing the upgrade form SP2010 to SP2013, I would recommend upgrading to the new environment to the current CU before upgrade/migrating databases.
PS… I think this may be related. The sites that are older seem to be affected only. Most of these home.aspx pages haven’t been edited in a long time.
