Hello,
I’m getting a strange error in SharePoint 2013, sometimes when I try to access a documents Edit properties (the second set of three little dots ( … ). Nothing will happen when I click on the second set of dots, the menu doesn’t show. It happens at random times and when it starts, I can usually refresh the page and it will work for a little while then start again.
The error is:
SCRIPT5007: Unable to get property ‘substr’ of undefined or null reference
core.js, line 1 character 200849
It happens in IE 9 & 10 and in Browser and Compatibility mode. I can’t upgrade to IE11 at this time.
I’m running SharePoint 2013 enterprise and I have 2 WFE’s, 2 App servers and 2 seperate SQL servers. I have not made any customizations to the site and it happens on multiple web apps.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Yes we have, when viewing in Dev Tools, that’s where I see the error:

I just don’t know what to do with that information….
