Hi Guys… Anyone please help me with SharePoint 2016 UPS Configuration along with MIM
I have been battling the MIM monster for the last week. There are so many little things to keep track of. Importing a custom attribute fromAD is not as simple as you think.
Has anyone been successful in running this as an automated task instead of the custom incremental and full profile imports?
DO you set up mim once and then switch to AD import or do you keep doing the MIM sync with a windows task?
MIM is only used for User Profile Sync , DLP and Hybrid does not depend on it.Â
Yeah its helpful .. Currently I have done with UPS Configuration for just Active directory Import and done with Full Synchronization.
As of now we are not looking for MIM features just want Active directory User Profiles & My sites.So in that case ,Dose it is mandatory to have MIM ? In future we want to Explore DLP and Hybrid So could you please suggest, is there is any dependency of MIM on other features of SP2016?

Have lots of queries installing MIM on another server and running configuration script will configure UPS? OR do we have to any additional configuration Profile Sync Connection and for MY Site ?
I have Single server farm installation with SQL server in the same server , Is it possible to install MIM on another server which already have SP 2013 along with SQL?
You need to do UPS first, then MIM. Did you check out the github documentation included with the MIM MA? https://github.com/OfficeDev/PnP-Tools/tree/master/Solutions/UserProfile.MIMSync
