Alright people tell me what you would want to see out there on a job board when looking for a job? Not just SharePoint experience but an all around Windows Admin with a heavy focus on SharePoint skills. Someone that knows the ropes and doesn’t have to ask a ton of questions. Come on everyone could benefit from a better job posting description!
You could also borrow some of Veroniques job descriptions :Â http://veroniquepalmer.com/2010/01/25/sharepoint-job-description-examples/
I wouldn’t put HTML, JS, etc. if you want an Administrator.
But for a Windows + SharePoint Administrator, I’d make sure of:
Strong AD, strong SharePoint Admin (Farm Topo, PowerShell, etc — make it clear if you want them to know “end user administration” as well, such as list/library/site/site permission design, etc), decent SQL admin skills, and then of course the virtualization layer (if used) and hardware as well.
good understanding of the underlying technologies and how they play together:
SQL, HTML, JS, CSS, Object Model, Client/Server, integration, Windows architecture, networking, basic security etc.
Maybe give them those words and tell them to make sense of it.
Hey it’s a lot, but SP is quite the horizontal mammoth 😀
