I’ve been researching integration of Sharepoint and an LMS/VLE system. I’ve read about the Sharepoint Learning Kit (SLK) and a few tidbits of Moodle integration, but was wondering if anyone here has successfully setup such a system. I’m looking more for self enrolled employee training than assignment-based education, but it would be nice to be able to assign courses if needed.
Lonnie- did you ultimately find an LMS to integrate well with Sharepoint? I ask because I’m on the same mission, and I’m looking for a best-in-class LMS that syncs well with SharePoint (particularly the social platform in SP 2013)./ Thanks for sharing any insights you’ve collected!!
Hey Lonnie
This is exactly what we are about to release with DocRead for SharePoint. DocRead (with DocSurvey) will allow you to register a doc, video, web page, etc., and set an amount of time to complete it by. Once this is set, you simply specify one of more groups to assign the training to (E.g new starters, finance team, class 6) and DocRead will then create tasks for each person in that group to do their training.
You will also have to achieve above a specified pass rate before completing the task. Via a DocRead Web part you can then place a person’s task list on any page. Once it’s placed, they can do all of their training from there.
Most of it is achievable now, but we are releasing the quiz functionality really soon.
Thanks
Mark
