Hi Guys,
I have question to you about hour rates when I work as freelancer. I know that there will be differences base on experience, country, company size, etc but I would like to collect some average values from you. Let’s say for someone who is SharePoint 2013/2016 administrator and developer and:
– work with SharePoint for 5 years
– posses few Microsoft certificates
– is able to administer SharePoint farm
– knows InfoPath; SharePoint designer very well
– knows how to write solution for on premise farm
– knows how to write solution for sharepoin online
And I work on hourly basis for company when they need my help. I don’t need the highest or lowest rates, just typical market rate.
Thank you in advance.
Regards
Tomasz
This is one of the most common questions but also one of the most difficult questions to answer. I would probably stick somewhere around on the higher side $85 to $115 range for this kind of experience. But again, some companies are willing to pay more depending on the type of work. Administrative consulting may be on a low end of $60-$75 where as development consultant work might be able to achieve a slightly higher rate.
In the UK you can easily get £300-£500 day outside of London and in London you can get beyond £500 day. That’s for a top SharePoint developer.
I agree with Beau. It depends on the project and location, but 85-120 per hour in the US for a Senior-level architect is a pretty solid start.
