Can anyone please tell me how to integrate Jabber in sharepoint office 365 site.I have read a lot of articles.Still not able to find where to start from.

I have been looking for similar understanding for both on premises SharePoint and Online.
A couple of articles, linked below, have helped me get a better understanding, but no solution identified that I (we) could implement ourselves without undue cost.
