I’m missing a piece of the puzzle with bar codes.

I have a SharePoint list which has bar codes, (turn on Info Management Settings). 

When I print these as labels I want to scan the bar code on the label and have it will show me all the information about this list item.

Currently, if I scan the bar code (from the screen), it just give me the unique number which SharePoint assigns to the bar code.  How do I get my scanner (which is just an android app on my phone) to reader the content of the list from the bar code.
