Hi Everyone,
I recently setup a content search web part to display the most accessed sites. Pretty easy, just set the scope to the site collection, return only sites, and in sorting set to Rank / Popularity. Thing is the results are completely inaccurate. The first site it shows hasn’t been accessed in months. Meanwhile active engagements with 50 plus users hitting a site all day doesn’t even show up at all.
What I’ve already looked at. Search Service, Crawl Sources, Crawl schedule, did a full crawl just in case, checked for any custom settings in CA and the site collection, notta.
Anyone have an idea why this would be happening?
Thanks!
So here is the latest. When attempting to generate an audit log it spins for a long time then says there was an error. When attempting to view a usage report it will spit out an Excel doc but it’s empty. I reviewed this article but my receivers are indeed enabled.
Any ideas on what to check next guys?
Hey Rick, can you test the query in CSWP and do you get the right results?
The first site is shows – you say it hasn’t been accessed in months – is that confirmed by analytics? e.g. is perhaps there some service account hitting that site, that is skewing the results?
