Hi all,
I am building an intranet with some subsites for each department underneath it. Is anyone aware of how to show / hide a link to a subsite based off group permissions? I was looking into enabling the audience feature but after reading, I was under the impression that it’s used within the subsite for list, pages or apps. I broke inheritance and gave the group that I want to have access, permissions, but others are still able to see and click on the link.
Thanks so much.
stop inheritance permission & Provide each site permission.
Hi guys and thanks for the reply.
Amber – I had already tried that with no luck on my current navigation. BUT, I changed the Navigation from Managed to Structural and that seemed to do the trick.
Pankaj – I’m guessing this is what you were talking about, but I didn’t see anywhere to set the audience. Am I missing something?
Thanks all.
You could dis-inheriate the subsites and assign permissions for each site too..
Hi Clint,
Do you want to hide and show left/Top navigation links based on group permission ? If yes then go to site setting under Look and Feel Click on Navigation now select your links from navigation items and set the audience whom you want to show that particular link.
