Hi Team,
I am exploring about Sky Drive Pro in SP2013. As I read it in article, We can sync the folders and files from document library to local drive folder called “SharePoint”, “Sky Drive”, “Sky Drive Pro” under favorites section.
If SharePoint document library located in team/publishing sites, it will be stored under “SharePoint” folder under Favorites section.
If My Sites document library, it will be stored under “Sky Drive Pro” folder under Favorites section in our local drive.
I am exploring the above scenario practically in my machine and steps are below,
1. Configure the My Site in 2013 following in the below link,
2. Click the Sky Drive link and it is redirecting to My Documents page under my site.
3. In My Documents, I have added some files and folders
3. Click the sync button, I think that it should create the folder “Sky Drive Pro” under favorites. But, It has stored only under “SharePoint” folder. Why?? Please clarify it and give me the suggestion for it ASAP.
Have I missed any configuration for SkyDrivePro ? Please confirm it ASAP. I am awaiting for anyone reply and solution for my problem.
Thanks,
Durga
Hi Team,
As per my understanding, I found the reason for the issue.. Now, I can able to see the “Sky Drive Pro” folder under “Favorites” section in our local drive.
If the user is having farm administrator privilege and access the machine with the same credentials then try to access the SkyDrive from MySite, it will always stored under “SharePoint” folder only.
I have created one more user without having permission for “Farm Administrator” group and tried to access the link, Sky Drive Client application create the folder called “Sky Drive Pro” folder under “Favorites” section in my local drive and stored those Documents files in that location.
For me, the default option is also not working.. It is not creating the “Sky Drive Pro” folder under favorites. Instead of this, all the files under “My Documents” are always stored under “SharePoint” folder with corresponding username. I don’t know whether I have missed any configuration step.
How about changing the name of folder. These mentioned names are just default by Microsoft. Then Open SkyDrive wizard to change to the new path you want.
