Hello,
Just wanted to get your attention for a little problem I’m having with permission levels. I also have this up on StackExchange and in an MS support case, but it seems an impossible one to solve. If it’s ok, I’m just going to share the link to my blog where you’ll find the case: http://blog.repsaj.nl/index.php/2013/06/sp2010-administrators-and-permissions/. Feel free to react either here of there (when a solution is found I’ll make sure it’s in both places).
Thanks!
Jasper,
Permissions and Site Structure go hand in hand as you know. I put together a few requirements on my blog around Enterprise versus Collaboration Sites to help me and others understand where the line in the sand is drawn. There is no right or wrong answer; it’s more a matter of understanding the rules and benefits of each option. Feedback is welcome.
Sites managed in the Enterprise Site realm are owned by IT from an infrastructure and enterprise governance perspective and managed by Business Users; whereas, collaboration sites are owned and managed by Business Users. As my business has tons of collaboration sites (ie; Division, Team, Event, Project), IT could never manage it all anyway; we must empower the Business Users to learn the tool and encourage the DIY (do it yourself) mantra.
