Hello,
Just wanted to get your attention for a little problem I’m having with permission levels. I also have this up on StackExchange and in an MS support case, but it seems an impossible one to solve. If it’s ok, I’m just going to share the link to my blog where you’ll find the case: http://blog.repsaj.nl/index.php/2013/06/sp2010-administrators-and-permissions/. Feel free to react either here of there (when a solution is found I’ll make sure it’s in both places).
Thanks!
I know and agree Kerry. I’d loved to have avoided this entire problem by just granting the permissions needed to the business. But my customer has a strict policy and just won’t allow that. I tried convincing them of the better option, but didn’t succeed. I’m pretty sure they will regret this choice, but hey; there’s only so much one can do, right? The underlying reason, without elaborating too much, is that we are forced to use AD groups for authorization. And only AD groups. The only way of forcing that is keeping control and making sure people do not have “manage permissions”.
