Scenario:
SP2010 enterprise environment with Infopath designer 2010 and a custom list imported from spreadsheet with 5 pre-populated fields (5 of the 20 data fields in the list).
we run data calls from hq to the field and want to use known location data (5 columns) as cascading dropdowns. normally we export the data from a system of record and then import it into a custom SP list and then design the form and send the link to the field point of contacts for fulfillment.
Question:
1. how can cascading drop downs be setup so that when the user selects from column #1 the choices in columns #2, #3, #4 & #5 are narrowed to only the relevant choices based on #1?
2. or, how can we have the data in columns #2, #3, #4 & #5 pre-populate based on the selection in column #1 which is a unique field?
should we be using Infopath rules and/or expression filters?
