Hi to all, i’m implementing a new intranet in a government agency and I already have experience with public facing websites but not intranet. I was in doubt if I use Publishing or Team Site template. I am well acquainted with publishing but as I said the use was in a public facing site type. I did a test with Team Site template and activated the publishing feature but still found it strange (or missing functionality or worse, that sometime I feel lacking some important functionality in the future). Please help me in this.

Interesting, most (maybe all) company intranets I’ve dealt with have had to have a whole variety of content which relied on all the templates. Ultimately it doesn’t really matter which you use but I personally wouldn’t use the public facing internet site template as the basis for an intranet site. Page layouts are just part of the publishing infrastructure feature, once that’s activated you will have access to all that you need.
