I have a couple of customers that find it annoying not to be able to upload multiple documents to SP Document libraries and get a chance to set values in custom columns directly.
The workaround with quick edit is not good enough for these customers, as they will find it hard to get theri end users to accept this.
The upload 3rd party solutions are not end user friendly and too expensive for these customers.
My question is if anyone have any suggestions for a coded solution, would an app be the best solution. The customers are using 2013 On-prem and Office365.

Have you found an App to do this? I need one to display extracted metadata after upload.

Sorry for late reply, I have had the privelige of performing SharePoint training.
The best solution would be an upload form either on a page or in an app. I have browsed for apps on the SharePoint store.
What would be your ideal UI for this if using the quick edit after upload is not preferred?
