I had some difficulties to implement state-of-the-art Social Networking using the new SharePoint 2013 Community Template. Should I better wait for Yammer and skip the template?
What do you think?
Thanks, Frank
What were the difficulties? I am fooling around with that now for a client demo. Had to do quite a bit of little things, but I have the news feed working, configured other elements .. so where did you run into problems?
I would have to agree with Stephen on this. What features/functionality are you really looking for and then use the appropriate technology for that. The one thing that you have to remember with Yammer and SharePoint is that the feature is requires you to already pay for Yammer for your organization. At this point I believe that is a different license. So even if you wanted to use Yammer this may keep you from moving forward.
So it looks as though ms are “all in” for multi Tennant and the cloud. Im just not getting it tbh, so yammer will be a replacement for the newsfeed if that’s what you want on-premise. All i see are two different products.
