I had some difficulties to implement state-of-the-art Social Networking using the new SharePoint 2013 Community Template. Should I better wait for Yammer and skip the template?

Hi Frank. It depends on what you want to do with Social in your organisation, remember that the community template is just one aspect of that and that it is just a “Template”. I believe that each community also has there own Activity stream if you activate the Feed feature.
