I asked this question a few years ago and Twitter + blogs were the predominant responses, but wondering if this has changed? There are a lot more “Shows” and Podcasts nowadays, so are they starting to become serious ways to learn the latest and greatest? I am also friends with quite a few SharePoint people on Facebook and am using that more and more as a way to keep my ear to the ground.
So …. can you list your top 3 ways to keep up with the latest news about SharePoint and Office 365?
My pleasure, Dylan. Welcome to the community. I’ve learned some new things about SharePoint from our community experts. Thanks for all our members, specially Mark Jones.
Oh yeah one more thing. I am also now storing the clicks out with Google Analytics so the next phase is to get a decent report out from GA. I tried using something called Super Proxy, but that was way too complex to setup.
hello Matthew …
I bring in the FB posts from the SharePoint page in http://o365.technology/ . I can also bring in Tweets, however, I think there will be a lot of noise in there. My main goal is to get all the blogs, news sites, vendors aggregated and categorised. It’s taking time, but getting there…
BTW – how was the course?
I am using Feedly to aggregate all of my news sources, they come from everywhere. I haven’t figured out how to scan Tweets or quality LinkedIn posts together with the Feedly stuff though yet, I have the o365.technology feed and many other sources in there, but parsing things out is really difficult. If anyone has any ideas on pulling content from tons of different sources into a readable format for daily use please let me know, Feedly is the best I am doing so far.
Even it is not difficult to find SP news on Microsoft channels and Google, I prefer Twitter and LinkedIn groups. Nowadays, I start using twitter to get the latest news and read SharePoint blogs.
