Welcome everyone, to one of the fastest growing community site and we will reach 1000 members soon. Firstly, I am really happy to see the rate at which the site is growing but with growth comes great responsibility.
What is SharePoint-community? It is not only the site but each and every one of you, who are part of it. We have wide array of people here with diverse expertise and experience spread across the world.
How can we benefit and connect with each other effectively? How can we contribute and learn? How can we share and motivate? I will share my expectations with you all and please feel free to share yours too. Also, please bear with me as I yap about everything 🙂
We have some of the community’s most respected people here, who are willing to share and help us learn. Please be courteous, helpful, curious, responsible and thankful. There are a few SharePoint Q & A sites but SharePoint-community is more than that. But you may ask “how?” It is because of each and every one of you can make the difference.
- Please try to maintain a high quality in the content, we are all interested to learn and hear about what you do with SharePoint, the challenges you face and how you overcame them.
- When you ask any question, please be patient for others to answer. More importantly, please try out the response and give us a feedback on what worked and what did not! It will be really helpful for others.
- If you have been using a fantastic tool, please share your experience with us (I am not talking about marketing here but end user experience).
- When you see something really cool related to SharePoint, share it with others in this community.
- Share about this site, link to it in your blog and spread the word to other SharePointers.Talk about SharePoint in many ways possible. Actively engage yourself!
- Finally, please be willing to help others in best possible way (This is more like a gym, your activity counts rather than your membership).
I am sure this site was started with some of these core ideas in mind. Let’s make best possible use of it!
Feel free to share, how do you want to grow the site and help shape the community.
Happy learning and SharePointing. Cheers!
Also what about a scheduled Chat QandA with an expert ? http://sharepoint-community.net/forum/topics/shall-we-do-a-sharepoint-chat-q-a-session
Wow Nateson . This is Awesome and thank you so much for putting it posting it!
I think so far … one of the major areas that people want help with is learning and certification. We should get those Study Guides as complete as possible, so when you come to prepare for the exam, you should be able to follow the relevant guide.
Here’s a link to the SharePoint Study Guides.
