It’s been a while since Microsoft announced they were not going to maintain Infopath any futher. Even though it’s still supported for a few years yet, I know this has still caused quite a bit of panic in the community. I also know some organizations are already using other 3rd party solutions, so as a quick poll, which Forms solution are you using? Or, are you happy to stay with Infopath?
If you are looking for a replacement, then I also put a list together of the Infopath Replacements and Vlad has just reviewed Kwizcom’s Forms Solution.
It’s been a year that I tell my clients to stop developing InfoPath because soon or later an InfoPath developer will become a rare ressource and therefore expensive (only dinosaurs will work on their knowledge from the past 10 years, the new comers to SP will not even want to look into fixing the existing forms..) It reminds me what happened with Lotus Domino.
I advocate Nintex Forms (and Workflow as an option too) since it’s a No Client to install solution, all web based (ok, still IE at the moment for on-premise), drag and drop, no code… Â BUT also can do advanced programming if you include all the actions they now have such as State-Machine, on schedule start, web service and SQL calls and so , so much more !Â
No brainer really.Â
I actually keep telling my client that I am surprised Microsoft didn’t buy Nintex yet since they are not making their Workflow designer (and forms obviously) with a better UI.
