It’s been a while since Microsoft announced they were not going to maintain Infopath any futher. Even though it’s still supported for a few years yet, I know this has still caused quite a bit of panic in the community. I also know some organizations are already using other 3rd party solutions, so as a quick poll, which Forms solution are you using? Or, are you happy to stay with Infopath?

I just posted a blog reviewing what’s known and unknown about InfoPath’s future. One thing that’s unknown is whether or how it will be possible to acquire InfoPath 2013 after the next version of Office releases without it. My suggestion: Microsoft should make InfoPath free.
In the context of this discussion, I wonder if InfoPath being free would sway anyone into sticking with it longer, maybe relaxing into a slower and more careful transition? Or are people generally intent on fleeing as rapidly as possible?
