It’s been a while since Microsoft announced they were not going to maintain Infopath any futher. Even though it’s still supported for a few years yet, I know this has still caused quite a bit of panic in the community. I also know some organizations are already using other 3rd party solutions, so as a quick poll, which Forms solution are you using? Or, are you happy to stay with Infopath?
If you are looking for a replacement, then I also put a list together of the Infopath Replacements and Vlad has just reviewed Kwizcom’s Forms Solution.
We are still using InfoPath forms. I work for one of Microsoft’s biggest partners employing over 200,000 globally. We use Microsoft products more than Microsoft to the point that Microsoft consults with us about their office products and our solutions. Jumping ship is not an option for us. Microsoft stated that they are working on a solution; my guess is that it will be centered around Office 365. Also, Microsoft will continue to support InfoPath 2013 and InfoPath Forms Services for SharePoint Server 2013 through April 2023. We are currently using SharePoint 2013.
Guess so, but then the same applies to other vendors – are they offering migration?
I guess the question is why would MS provide a migration path if they really consider it .eol. It is a bit like Lotus Notes perhaps?
WOW! Looks like everyone is jumping away from Infopath. Anyone still using it? The way I see it, yes it’s not going to be improved any further, but surely MS are going to provide a migration tool to their new version.Â
