It’s been at least 6 months since we told each other what we are doing with SharePoint, so I thought it’d be kinda nice to get an update! Can you spend a moment to share what you are doing with SharePoint ?
Think about :
- Version of SharePoint
- Hardware / Platform
- Type of Site (Collaboration, Internet facing, doc management etc)
- Company (if you are allowed)
- Industry
- Number of users
- Location
- Is it going well 😉
And to see it in action … https://www.sp24conf.com 🙂
I highly recommend you to have a look at this product for extranet: https://www.riolinx.com/en/products/extradium/default.aspx 🙂
This is coming from a personal experience with the product over time.
I’m about to start an Extranet project. SharePoint 2013 on prem.
First step is just Team sites and authentication & branding. But step two will be integration with Intranet applications, cross publishing, BI and landing page for external users.
The company is located in Sweden/ Scandinavia, mix industries and has a few hundred employees.
Will be a fun and project with lots of challenges. 😉
Here are mine:
Project 1: SP 2013 Enterprise implementation for a large pharmaceutical client.
In this project I am working on consolidating disparate SP platforms ranging from 2003 to 2010 into one big SP 2013 platform. We are also working on providing different service offerings on top of this new SP 2013 platform so different LOB apps can be connected seamlessly across the organisation.
Project 2: SP24 (SharePoint Foundation 2013)
Just go to www.sp24conf.com and check it out yourself :). It is the biggest SP online conference in the world.
Project 3: CollaborationPoint (Hosted SP 2013 Foundation service)
I am working on this project to relaunch a service previously called SharePointPower. This will provide users to have a SP 2013 Foundation plan at a cheaper price. It is aimed at learning and development playground at a very reasonable cost.
I am also working on some codeplex projects listed here:
Allow users to change their Active Directory password from SharePoi…
Fix SP 2013 Multitenant Missing BCS and SSS Links
I am currently working with a deployment of SharePoint 2010 that is being used as a document repository. 16.5+ million searchable items so far and it grows by the thousands daily. We have custom developed processes that dump documents into SharePoint 24/7. I believe our content size is up to 4TB, not including search DBs and other config DBs.
I also started my own consulting company, which I’m hoping will take off soon so I can do it full time. Here’s a shameless plug 😀 http://devsoftsolutions.com
