What experience do you have with SharePoint migration tools ? Which ones the best, easiest to use, best value for money ?
Reason for asking is I am considering doing a special newsletter which compares and contrasts them, but don’t have the experience with all of them… So if you have used one, let me know your thoughts and share as much as possible…

I think Sharegate is the good one but you should consider top SharePoint Migration Consultant because they have vast knowledge and industry experience with this particular field. They are specialized in this. These experts will help you in every stage of the project.
We at Digital Design utilize different set of tools from case to case. But most often we use one of the following: AvePoint, AI.DATAPOINT, BitTitan, Office 365 Migration – Lightning Migrator. At least those are ones with which I worked personally.
At my company we went with outsourcing the entire job to Digital design. Migration is tough process, and selection of tools would depend on the volume of data and types of applications. For us it was just terrible because first we tried to go through optimization of SharePoint. You can read more here about it. But after we moved to office 365 everything went so smooth.
In early 2010 we migrated 3 large-ish MOSS 2007 sites to 2010 using Metalogix Migration Manager. The tool was very easy to set up and use, brought EVERYTHING over, including permissions, and saved many, many hours of work.
