Go on let’s have em, what laptops are you all running and do you recommend for SP 2013 development ? The MBP a contender (surely not)!… Is anyone surviving on 16gb ?

MBP most certainly IS a contender — running multiple MS servers on 13″ early 2011 MBP, 2.3 Ghz i5, 16Gb RAM, and (here’s the critical bit) 512Gb Crucial M4 SSD. I’ve just ordered another HD bay to replace the optical drive, along with an external Thunderbolt drive, as my problem isn’t processor, it’s disk space. I’d love 32Gb RAM, but so far with careful configuration it’s not been a real problem. A later MBP would be nice as it would have USB3, but I think I’m going to get around my diskspace issues with a NAS instead, and the setup I’m probably going to end up in the short-term is 2xMBP networked with a hub and a NAS. On the other hand I might mix a Windows 8 laptop with hyperv into the mix to act as the NAS. I just love my MBP! Using Fusions, btw, not Parallels. And the coolest thing of all — is I don’t have to lug around a 17″ beast all the time — just my lovely little 13″.
