Go on let’s have em, what laptops are you all running and do you recommend for SP 2013 development ? The MBP a contender (surely not)!… Is anyone surviving on 16gb ?

Yep, I’ve been on a MBP for over a year now. Wouldn’t consider anything else at the moment. A couple of external SSDs over USB 3.0 and it glides right along. Dev config is here -> http://t.co/HzM8OTPSkd

HEWLETT PACKARD HP 8570w Core i7-3610QM Windows 7 OPEN BOX – SMALL SCRATCH ON LID, NOT IN ORIGINAL BOX for 772.82GBP plus VAT(20%) = 927.38 … being delivered tomorrow, and it’ll use the 32Gb I’d ordered from Crucial yesterday thinking I was going to get a Lenovo w530, and it can have the Crucial 512Gb SSD out of my MBP.
Not the latest processor, but couldn’t say no to the price! I’d never have looked if it weren’t for this thread.
4GB RAM for only SP installed is quite enough but would be bad for performance in the future when things grow up.
Mark, I am using Dell Inspiron 15R-7520 Special Edition(Corei5 3rd Gen/4GB/1TB/15.6″/2GB Graphics) Laptop. Works much better and moreover my SharePoint 2013 rocks.
