Go on let’s have em, what laptops are you all running and do you recommend for SP 2013 development ? The MBP a contender (surely not)!… Is anyone surviving on 16gb ?
UPDATE! Can you also add your laptop and configuration to this list : (User “Add to List”). http://list.ly/list/73V-sharepoint-2013-laptops. If someone has the same one, just vote it up.
I have my Lenovo W530 for sale. 1 ssd. 1 hybrid ssd. 24 gb ram.
I got myself a dell m4800
Folks,
How about Apple Mac Book pro with i7 (quad core) with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB FLASH drive?
I am planning to buy this one.
12 GB RAM could be allocated for SP Server and 4 GB for iOS.
Thanks,
Sahil
In the scenario that you mentioned, have you noticed any performance issue when debugging in Visual Studio?
I am currently using CloudShare with 3 separate VMs hosting SQL, AD, and SharePoint, however, debugging codes in Visual Studio is such an agony!!! Any suggestion?
I was considering the desktop option as well, but I’d need some advice to have a proper and well balanced configuration. All the major websites offer gaming configurations, or video editing configurations.
I know what I need:
- i7 CPU
- 32 Gb RAM
- Hard disk drive: what’s the best config? 1 SSD + 1 normal HD?
Then the list of components I’d struggle to choose:
- motherboard
- power supply
Could anyone help me with a reasonable configuration?
Thanks!
Currently using ASUS ROG G750JM with 32 GB ram and i7 4700HQ Processor with 512 SSD only for VM

Wow … what a lot of responses!
