Go on let’s have em, what laptops are you all running and do you recommend for SP 2013 development ? The MBP a contender (surely not)!… Is anyone surviving on 16gb ?
UPDATE! Can you also add your laptop and configuration to this list : (User “Add to List”). http://list.ly/list/73V-sharepoint-2013-laptops. If someone has the same one, just vote it up.
2 VMS is needed – certainly is for me anyway. I also have enough to learn – (Have you seen the App Model!! 😉 – without having to pick my way around a different OS. Each to their own though. But Windows is best.
Having 32gb ram is good when we need to run more than 2 VMs simultaneously. But for a single VM for SharePoint – Macbook looks better. Also an opportunity to look into Mac OS!!!.
Still restricts you to only one 2013 environment though? I have 2 running all of the time, one development and one test. The performance of my DELL M4700 has been exceptional and Windows 8 has been pretty stable to. I believe the Lenovo rocks even more.
I honestly don’t get why you’d spend more cash to get something that isn’t that much quicker and also limits you on memory. As we know SP likes it memory 🙂 I do agree they look cooler though.
I SHALL NEVER BE CONVERTED TO APPLE MACS… 😉 We need Anthony popping his two penneth in.
Ask Andrew Connell and Sahil Malik the same question! 🙂

Basically for PCIe attached storage that is twice as fast as the fastest available conventional SSD on other laptops.
Wow … what a lot of responses!
