We have been using a SPO Image Library for over a year with over 3,000+ images. We have added a Term Set/Taxonomy as a custom column, and ensured that that is a crawled property that is mapped to the RefinableString00 Mapped property.
We have been able to search for images using this field and other fields (such as author, title, keywords, etc…) since we originally built the site over about a year ago.
Last week, the site searching broke completely. no results returned form the image library, using any terms or query string.
Global/Enterprise search is still working (from other sites and lists) – only this particular library is broken.
After several days of investigation with MS support, I was told this is ‘designed behaviour’ – which I simply cannot believe – yet.
MS also told me of a workaround: add another text column, then map it to another crawled/managed property – then reindex. Which I am trying – but I’m skeptical since we have some of these added already.
Has anyone had the same situation where searchable items simply stop being searchable? I cannot see how it matters, but we recently just surpassed 3,000 images in the library.
Any suggestions would be very welcome.
